Air Filter and its Uses

Air filter is a device used in devices like air conditioners, furnaces, compressors and in systems where highly efficient clean air quality is needed. A specific type of test has been designed to measure the efficacy of incarcerating tiny particles such as pollen, dust, fumes, bacteria and fungi.

Air filters are available in different lengths, widths and depths by many manufacturing companies, customized air filters are also designed to meet the need of the customers. Air filters are manufactured with cotton, polyester, foam and paper. Earlier, small engines of lawnmowers contain foam, now oil wetted polyurethane foam filters are available for off road rallying and applications where huge amount of dust will be come across yet foam filters are superseded by pleated paper air filters. Different from papers used in papers of notebook, pleated paper filters are easy to service and cost effective. The cabin air filter is formed by using pleated paper and is used in vehicles’ outside air intakes. There is a popular belief that paper filters flow inadequately, but it is not true for as long as they are not obstructed with heavy amount of dirt, they do not restrict engine performance. Mostly, polyester and glass fiber air filters are in vogue for commercial, residential and industrial applications due to the reason that both materials offer high temperature ratings. Coarse particles after entering engines of vehicle pollutes the air, combustion air filters are an ideal as they resist such contaminates to enter into engines for combustion air filters made up of plastic or metal container provide hot as well as cool air inlet.

Custom designed air filters are specifically designed to meet the demands of the customers, you can have an air filter in varied length, widths and depths to decontaminate the vehicle or the machine through which you want to offer a high air quality. If you are irritated by foul smells, do not bother any more, because special air filters are designed by manufacturers to provide you with an air independent of stinking smell. Allergy fee air filters are used in air conditioners, furnaces, HAVC and attic applications; other preferred filter types include 100% non polyester and antimicrobial air filters that filter the air from micro organism like fungi, pollen and harmful bacteria.

Air filters are classified into two groups for their flammability, standards have been issued from engineering organizations and test organizations to place an air filter relatively in buildings, homes and other places. Having minimum size from 2 micron, particles include fungus, bacteria, dust mites, pollen and other allergens enter the engine and remain in the lung lining and mucus membrane. It is generally believed that air filters with electrostatic charge will be an ideal purchase to shield the engines from such particles but paradoxically it is not true for electrostatic air filters only capture 10% tiny particles. Therefore a test has been maintained to evaluate the ability of air filters; before buying an air filter the purchaser must ask the buyer what the efficiency air filter offers for dust stop.

The US government, regarding to the efficacy of air filters maintain it is better to replace air filters off and on after they become highly clogged with dust affecting the working of engines of your appliances or vehicles. The best solution is to rewash the air cleaners again and again, instead of buying a new one every time the air filter got filthy. The rewashing of air filters do not cost you electrically rather they help ensure less electrical conductivity for keeping your systems neat and clean.
